‘‘This year I think I’ve listened to more hours of music than I have in a long time, if not ever. I really lean on music during stressful times and I’ve relied on old favourites and new finds to get me through this year. This is the first year in a while (since, 2006?) I’ve actively looked for a listened to new music as well. I did some research for this playlist and found some new gems, but a lot of these songs were already ones that I’ve been listening too. I’ll remember the music of this year and I’ll hold onto it as something positive amongst all the struggles.’’

‘‘ I’ve always liked the alternative side of music for as long as I can remember thanks to my parents, it’s been a massive thing in my household. As for my favourite music, I have always had a thing for nu-metal and it gradually got heavier, as a teenager I was a major metalhead and refused to listen to anything other than metal with very few exceptions, but when I turned 18 I started listening to more and started to enjoy more genres and it changed my outlook on a lot of things.
I really couldn’t imagine my life without music.”

My relationship with music is so hard for me to describe because it heals and strengthens me in ways I don’t think I even understand myself!
