What was your experience of music growing up - how did you develop a love of it?

I don’t remember a time where music wasn’t at the centre of my life and who I am. My Dad is a huge music fanatic and probably the catalyst for my love for music. He would always play me and my younger brother music from all different genres and educate us on music history and artists.

What was the first music you bought for yourself?

The first single I remember being SUPER excited about buying was Blu Cantrell ft. Sean Paul - Breathe. I had a huge speaker system in my room and I came home and laid on my bed for hours listening to it on repeat.

How does music affect your mood and get you motivated?

Music is a game changer when it comes to my mood - especially if I need to get motivated. Sometimes if I feel like I’m lacking that drive that I need, I know I can turn to certain playlists or songs and they can literally turn my whole vibe around.

What’s your favourite song on your Sugar Storm Soundtrack and why?

Oooh this is so hard! I would probably say ‘AlunaGeorge - Best Be Believing (Shadow Child Remix)’ - it’s been my fav for a few months now!

How do you usually discover new music?

I actually really love Spotify - there are some great features that suggest music for you, and even create custom playlists for you based on what you’ve already been listening to. I also have loads of friends in the industry who show me new artists and music all the time, and listening to the radio of course.

Do you prefer listening to an album in full or everything on shuffle?

I’m a shuffle gal! However, I always give the album the respect of listening to it in order on the first spin...thereafter it’s shuffle or I pick tracks I like and skip.

What are you listening to the most right now?

I’ve been enjoying a lot of R&B and Soul right now, but I have also been getting more into my House, Dance and Garage tracks too after creating this playlist! That's why my radio show is called the ‘C-Mix’ because I literally listen to a bit of everything!
